Vintage Bowl-back (“Tater-bug”) Mandolin (1972 – Restored) with Case
Product Description
Neapolitan (aka “Bowl-back” or “tater-bug”) mandolins, at one time really easy to come by, are becoming increasingly difficult to find. This is especially true of the really good ones like this. It is a restored vintage instrument made by Suzuki (Japan) in 1972. Suzuki at that time was the premiere maker of this type of mandolin. Comes with original really cool shaped case.
This is the kind of mandolin you need if you are involved in any kind of pre-20th century reenacting, as the modern (e.g. F-Style and A-Style) mandolin was not invented until the early 1900s.
